Crown Court Litigator

We are seeking an experienced Crown Court Fee Earner / Litigator to join our team. This is a full time (9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday) position based at our busy office in Manchester with the option of agile working. We are one of the leading criminal and regulatory Solicitors firms in the region. Role

  • Preparation of Crown Court Cases for a wide variety of offences.
  • Taking instructions from and advising clients at the office and prison establishments.
  • Instructing counsel and expert witnesses.

Required skills

  • Ideally you will be Police Station Accredited or keen to obtain accreditation within the first 12 months of employment.
  • Minimum 3 years criminal law experience including the preparation of Crown Court cases.
  • Knowledge of MS Office systems including Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and client care skills.

Full Time Legal Cashier

We are seeking a full time (9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday) Legal Cashier to be responsible for the day to day accounting and finance functions at our Manchester Office. We are one of the leading criminal and regulatory Solicitors firms in the region and offer an excellent package of benefits including 20 days leave per annum plus bank holidays, company pension scheme, free parking and opportunity to progress within the business. Full training will be provided and the role offers the opportunity of agile working once the 6 month probationary period of training is completed.

Role

  • Processing of all client monies, ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Administration of purchase ledger
  • VAT returns
  • Month/year end procedures
  • Billing
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Expenses claims

Required skills

  • Minimum 3 years cashier or accounting experience
  • Legal aid billing and payroll an advantage but not a necessity
  • Knowledge of MS Office systems including Word and Outlook
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
