The annual event takes place on Thursday 28th September 2017 where hundreds of walkers from the legal sector, take to the streets of the city center of Manchester and walk 10k in order to raise funds for the North West Legal Support Trust (NWLST).
Earlier this year Burton Copeland raised a wad of cash feeding staff and neighbours by taking part in the great legal bake off now we are taking to the streets of Manchester to raise more cash for this amazing charity.
In these times of cuts to legal aid, the the charity do massive amounts of work supporting those who would not be eligible for free legal assistance. The charity support organisations who:
- Prevent families being made homeless
- Prevent destitution
- Help older people gain the support to which they are entitled
- Help women and children who have been trafficked for domestic servitude or prostitution.
Within 10 minutes of signing up, several members of staff agreed to take part including the head of the team, Senior Partner Gywn Lewis. So far signed up we have:
It’s rumoured that Claire will run the 10k route and use it towards her goal of completing 10 x 10k runs in a year.
Can anyone take part in the Manchester legal walk?
Yes – anybody can take part.
