Burton Copeland staff support local food bank this Christmas

The team at Burton Copeland will be working together to donate food to the Audenshaw branch of the Trussell Trust this Christmas. Staff have been asked to either donate financially or to add some extra items to their shopping baskets.

Practice Director Deborah Jackson said, “We have organised this collection each Christmas now for several years and the response has always been great. We understand that everyone is feeling the squeeze this winter with rises in the cost of food and fuel, as well as interest rates and inflation. However, we are dedicated to collecting as much as we can for this fantastic cause. I’m looking forward to seeing what we collect!”

The food is to be donated to the Audenshaw foodbank operated by local volunteers under the umbrella of the Trussell Trust. The trust supports over 1200 food banks throughout the UK to provide emergency food and support to people who are battling with poverty. The food banks partner with different local care professionals such as doctors, teachers, health visitors and social workers to identify families or individuals in poverty crisis. They are then issued with vouchers to access emergency food ensuring that the items donated go to those most in need.
