Earlier this month, the Burton Copeland team swapped the courtroom for the football pitch as we took part in the Manchester Law Society’s annual five-a-side tournament. The event brought together local firms for a day of competitive spirit, teamwork, and fundraising- all in support of the fantastic We Love Manchester Charity.
The matches
Our fixtures were tough, but our team gave it their all:
- Burton Copeland v Wilson & Rowe (1–6)
- Burton Copeland v Russell & Russell (0–5)
- Burton Copeland v Bexley Beaumont (0–1)
- Burton Copeland v Tuckers (1–0)
After a challenging start, spirits were high when we clinched our well-earned victory against Tuckers. A big thank you to every opponent for keeping us on our toes (and for scoring some spectacular goals against us!).
Playing for a cause
While we may not be topping any football leagues soon, the real win of the day was being part of an event that raised funds for We Love Manchester Charity. The charity does incredible work across the city, providing support and opportunities for communities and young people to thrive. We were proud to play our small part in supporting their efforts.
A great day out
From the camaraderie on the pitch to the laughter on the sidelines, it was a brilliant day for our team and the legal community as a whole. We’d like to thank the Manchester Law Society for organising such a fantastic event, and we’re already looking forward to next year- hopefully with more goals scored in our favour!
Until then, we’ll stick to defending clients rather than defending against strikers.
