Burton Copeland Staff Support Local Food Bank This Christmas.

Burton Copeland have again asked staff to donate extra food in order to support those less fortunate themselves this Christmas and the response has been amazing. Staff were asked to either donate financially or to add some extra items to their shopping baskets.

Some of the food donated to the trussell trust

Practice Director Deborah Jackson said, “We have organised this collection each Christmas now for several years and the response has always been great. But, everybody is feeling the squeeze this winter with rises in the cost food and fuel as well as interest rates and inflation. We are truly amazed at the amount that the staff have donated”

The food is to be donated to the Droylsden and District foodbank operated by local volunteers under the umbrella of the Trussell Trust. The trust supports over 1200 food banks throughout the UK to provide emergency food and support to people who are battling with poverty. The food banks partner with different local care professionals such as doctors, teachers, health visitors and social workers to identify families or individuals in poverty crisis. They are then issued them with vouchers to access emergency food ensuring that the items donated go to those most in need.
