Burton Copeland Are in The Law Society Messenger For April – Twice!

The Law Society Messenger magazine is delivered free to all members and helps to provide regular updates in the industry. From discussions and debates, through to procedural changes and articles of interest. Many of which are from members and the magazine’s strategic partners.

Now the April 2020 Edition is available, and Burton Copeland are immensely proud to feature not once but twice in the prestigious publication…

Women in the legal profession

On page 15, our Managing Partner & Supervising Solicitor Louise Straw, examines how the role of women in the legal profession has changed. Louise takes us through her personal journey from being a pupil barrister, called to the bar in 1987, to being partner in Burton Copeland. Examining the challenges she faced getting accepted as a full member of the Exchange Chambers, and how positive progress has been made in the profession despite there still being challenges ahead.

The MLA Awards 2020

The Law Society Messenger also has a section dedicated to the MLA Awards, which celebrates the region’s thriving and outstanding legal talent every year. Each year hundreds of members of the legal fraternity descend upon the Midland Hotel in Manchester for the prestigious and glamorous black tie award ceremony.

On page 25, Burton Copeland features, thanks to our firm being shortlisted and winning the Small Law Firm of the Year category. It was great to see the firm, which started life over 30 years ago and has gone through many changes since, be recognised and rewarded.
