Burton Copeland had been shortlisted in three categories. Alongside Olliers, Clifford Johnson and last years winners Morton’s Solicitors, we were shortlisted and won the highly coveted “Crime Team of the Year Award”.
In addition, Hannah Costley was shortlisted in the Trainee / Paralegal category and was winner of that category in 2017. Jonathan Wall was shortlisted in the “Partner of the Year” category. Jonathan was proud to have been shortlisted in the category having only been made partner in 2018, and is the first non qualified lawyer to be made partner in the firms 35 year history.
Winning the Partner of the Year was Eddie Jones of JMW Solicitors. After the event Jonathan said, “To have been shortlisted in this category with some of the elite of the Manchester legal community less than 12 months after being made partner is a true honour and huge congratulations go to Eddie at JMW”.
The event was a complete sell out with almost 700 guests arriving for a champagne reception before the awards began and dinner was served at the swish event held at the Midland Manchester.
On winning the Crime Team of the Year Award – Managing Partner Louise Straw said, “Despite working in challenging times the team at Burton Copeland strive to ensure that our reputation in criminal law is second to none and this award is recognition of that”.
