LinkedIn security issues again – you might want to change your password

Some will remember the security breach in 2012 when LinkedIn was hacked and login details were stolen. LinkedIn acted immediately and contacted the users involved prompting them to change their passwords. It now seems that the data breach may have been far more widespread than originally thought.

It was reported in 2012 that the user details of 6 1/2 million LinkedIn users were affected and their accounts were reset. However it is now reported that a hacker calling himself “Peace” has offered for sale on the Dark-web the details of 117 million LinkedIn users for 5 Bitcoins (valued at around £1500).

If you haven’t changed your password on Linked in a while – now might be the time to do so immediately.
