In November, partners asked staff to add a few extra items to their weekly shopping in order to donate them to a local charity, the response has been amazing.
Back in 2018 Burton Copeland did a similar collection and donated items to the Droylsden & District Foodbank which is part of the Trussell Trust Charity, This much needed charity which is run by a number of volunteers collect and distribute food items to those most in need throughout the year. This year the response has been amazing. Managing Partner Louise Straw who assisted in the delivery of items in 2018 said,
“We were particularly touched last year when we were informed that many of the items donated by our staff would be given to a family of three young children who had recently lost their mother, this gave us all extra motivation this year”.
The charity operates over 1200 food bank centres throughout the UK and provides nutritionally-balanced emergency food to some of the 14 million people who are living in poverty in the UK.
