It should go without saying then that we’re very pleased to be included in Band 1 of the Chambers and Partners again this year.
Chambers ranked Burton Copeland in Band 1 for several reasons. Here’s what they had to say about us:
Burton Copeland enjoys a national reputation across a whole spectrum of criminal litigation. In 2020 they were the winners of The Small Firm of the Year award at Manchester Law Society Legal Awards. They have also been the winners of Crime Team of the Year and Regulatory Team of the Year. 2020 also saw Burton Copeland awarded in The Times Best Law Firms of 2020 for a second year in a row.
The firm’s unique selling point is their reputation for expertise and competence throughout the whole spectrum of criminal law, from serious and organised crime through to regulator work and road traffic offences.
As well as this the firm has a very well established road traffic department which continues to act for notable personalities like premiership footballers and the CEO’s of national companies. They also help ‘ordinary’ motorists who are facing the loss of their licences.
To add to this The Firm regularly receives instructions to act in inquests and disciplinary proceedings, including the Hillsborough and Grenfell Inquests.
Gwyn Lewis, Senior Partner at Burton Copeland was delighted with the firms inclusion into Band 1 of the Chambers and Partners rankings and had this to say about the accolade:
“To have been listed as a Band 1 partner by Chambers and Partners is a real accolade. It is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the whole team at Burton Copeland and credit goes to the whole team from helping us thrive and grow in the last 18 months”
